I Scientologi Justitssystemet giver Præte-retten formålstjenlig løsning på civile anliggender, der angår strid mellem scientologer, idet man samtidig holder sådanne sager væk fra de almindelige civilretter. (At stævne en anden scientolog i en civil retsag er en overtrædelse af Justitskodekserne i Scientologi(se Scientologi Justitskodekserne og deres anvendelse)). Derudover blev World Institule of Scientology Enterprises (WISE) senere grundlagt for specielt at behandle forretningsstridigheder mellem scientologer. Medlemskab af WISE er et krav, men undladelse af at være medlem af WISE fritager ikke en person fra reglen, der forbyder sagsanlæg imod en anden scientolog.
