A Clockwork Orange afspejler sig i nogen grad af det samfund vi lever i i dag, da flere ting fra bogens fremtidsvisionære samfund bl.a. ses i vores eget, såsom unge, der har en voldsom og grov adfærd på grund af visse faktorer, der spiller ind på deres socialisation. Man skal dog huske, at se på, at visse faktorer er forskellige i disse to samfund, og derfor kan en ting som fx refleksivitet i ”A Clockwork Orange” både afspejle det samfund, som vi lever i, men også være forskellig fra det i og med, at vores samfund er senmoderne og derfor har udviklet sig i forhold til det moderne samfund, som er fremstillet i bogen. Man kan dog ikke vide, om vores samfund i fremtiden vil udvikle sig i retning af det, der bliver fremstillet i ”A Clockwork Orange”.
