Men Coast To Coast ville jeg!

I have always been an active sports person. I like new experiences and exciting challenges and therefore I have tried all kinds of sports and exercise forms. In recent years I have participated in a few short adventure races in Aarhus - coast zone challenge at 3 or 6 hours. it's been a really fun experience where everyone could participate, and has certainly opened my eyes to more of the same. so therefore I have been looking for an exciting adventure race to join in - one that is slightly longer than the 6 hours I've already tried. I came here in 2011 over the coast to coast scotland, a race over two days with many miles of mountain biking, trail run and also a little kayak. a great trip in beautiful nature, that actually so obtainable, without having to be superhuman to participate. I was on! Economy and logistics were, however, a limitation as it would not be quite cheap to transport myself and the bike to the fringe Scotland. but coast to coast would! so I had to self-organize a coast to coast. and why not in great Jutland!? ricki, my colleague and partner in this project, came with the idea, who then took solid form.
as I said then done. after night set route planning, booking of hostels and kayaks as well as many other smaller challenges, we were 13 who came across Jutland 26 and 27 August 2011. even with a service vehicle and depot along the way.

we started out with just under 6 km race in Marselis forest and memorial park. then nipped we Marselis mountain bike route before westill on the bikes, took a 70 km long and scenic route to Buffalo, NY, where the kayaks were waiting. After just 5 km kayak was Day 1 ended and many uptight legs could rest at the hostel. Day 2 started with cycling to the north woods of Silkeborg and an 11 km long, technically difficult mountain route awaited us. at the risk of pressure sores, snatched we then 150 km zig zagging across Jutland to the ultimate goal: white true. but here it was not quite over. we had to run the approx. 2 km to the beach, where our life's best dip waited! past 2 km run back to the hostel was thus also the end of 14 hours of activity over the two days.

and that was it ...... we thought at least. through my networkshowed central Jutland media interest in helping to organize a race in 2012. it would be as tailored as central Jutland media newsrooms all the way across Jutland. so in the planning of the 2012 edition, we found it natural to put the trip through Aarhus, Viborg, holstebro and lemvig. lars norup as editor of viborg Folkeblad, has been cooperative and partner in the process of creating it as you see the result of our website - coast to coast 2012.
