DDRs borger blev meget ulykkelig i gennem tiden. Derfor vil de gerne hen til vest tyskland, fordi de havde ytringsfrihed og levede godt. Det resulterede i at der kom demonstrationer i gaderne. I sidste ende gav regeringen op, og lod borgerne passere grænsen. Hvor den berømte berliner mur også faldt den 10. november 1989
