Det kan være svært at tilpasse sig, når man er vant til andre normer og regler. Når man er forældre vil man gerne give sine børn et godt liv, med normer fra ens hjem land og deres nye hjem.
"Hvor guderne flyver" er skrevet af Jean Kwok, en kinesisk amerikansk forfatter, hun blev født i Hong Kong, men flyttede til Brooklyn i en meget ung alder.
